Welcome to the Western North Carolina Orchid Society!
Welcome to the web site of the Western North Carolina Orchid Society. We are a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. We wish to share the excitement and joy of cultivating orchids, and we promote orchid habitat conservation.
The Society was originally formed in September of 1962 and is an affiliate of the American Orchid Society.
The Society generally meets on the second Sunday of each month at our new meeting place, the Asheville Visitor Center, located at 36 Montford Ave., Asheville, NC 28801. All orchid lovers are welcome to attend our meetings, which usually begin at 2 PM and are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary – just an appreciation of the fantastic variety of the world of orchids and a desire to learn more about them!
