Gardening has been a major part of Andrea’s life ever since she was a young child.  At eight years old she had her first hobby greenhouse where she collected and grew a collection orchids and other tropical plants.  After attending college at the University of West Florida she worked in the propagation division of JEM orchids in Delray Beach Florida.  In 2007 she moved to Maryville Tennessee and began growing her own personal organic garden but became depressed when the landscape went dormant in the winter.  To continue her plant growing passion year-round she took things indoors.  Struggling to find the supplies she was looking for locally inspired her to open her own retail shop, Innovative Garden and Hydroponic Supply Inc.

“I wanted to be a store that you could bring your whole family to and be educated and inspired about healthy gardening”. Our main goal is offering knowledge and helping our customers achieve their gardening goals.  Those philosophies, a great team, and wonderful customer relationships helped the business grow from a 2,000sf retail space in 2011 to a 9,000sf retail space with a 10,000sf greenhouse today.  As well as running her own retail business she also works as a LEED AP, Qualifying Agent, and Senior Masonry Estimator for one of the largest masonry companies in the Southeastern United States.  In her spare time, she enjoys being on the board and volunteering at the Blount County Non-for-profit organization Special Growers, spending time with her dogs, and participating in international adventure travel.
