September 2024 Newsletter

There is a flurry of activity in our WNCOS world this month!

First of all, and perhaps our biggest news: WNCOS HAS A NEW HOME!! We will now meet in the historic and recently renovated Ivy Building. Built in 1919, this building was originally the gymnasium for the Saint Genevieve school and is now part of the AB Tech campus. It a fabulous space, and we believe you are going to love it.

Next, a great big thanks to those of you who filled out the WNCOS Member Survey. Your opinions and suggestions help us to better understand your growing needs and desires, and to plan forward, directing our decisions for future programs and activities. Please feel free to continue to share your ideas and desires—no need to wait for a follow-up survey!

For our inaugural meeting we have an excellent speaker, Russ Vernon of New Vision Orchids. Russ will be teaching us about a beautiful genus, Odontoglossum. He will also have plenty of plants for sale. If you don’t have an Odontoglossums in your collection, now is your chance. Read more about Russ here.

Whether you are currently a member or not, I invite you to come and help celebrate our new meeting venue. It’s easy to find. Just Google 9 Genevieve Circle Asheville. It’s the beautiful old building amongst the new ones.

So grab your Show-and-Tell beauties and I’ll see you on Sunday, September 8th. The meeting starts at 2:00pm, but come early to shop and socialize.
