April 2025 Newsletter

Let’s start with a huge round of applause for all the WNCOS members who contributed their gorgeous blooming orchids to Asheville Orchid Festival 2025!! What a tremendous turnout of both members and the public! With so many to thank, I will wait for our April 13th meeting to acknowledge all the many members who contributed in so many ways to the success of this year’s show, but will not wait to proclaim that Leslie and I think this year’s overall show was the best ever!! With more than 3,000 folks attending the show, there is much to celebrate.

On April 13th, in addition to an Asheville Orchid Festival recap, we will host an engaging roundtable discussion regarding how to care for all those new orchids you took home from the show. This may be especially helpful to all our new members, but also give our more advanced members a chance to share valuable orchid growing tips with others. This will be a relaxed, fun exchange. 

On April 13th, please join us at The Ivy Building, 9 Genevieve Circle, at 2:00 p.m., for a great deal of orchid conviviality; and please bring your blooming orchids for Show and Tell, especially those that didn’t quite open for last week’s festival.
